NB: The history is retained even if the map is renamed.

NB2: Overwriting a map (by downloading from the cloud or uploading via wifi will not affect the history.

IMPORTANT: If a map is actually deleted, then there is no way to recover it (or its history)

iThoughts automatically saves your work every 30 seconds. It also creates a ‘snapshot backup’ (copy) of your map every 5 minutes (and when the map is closed.) It keeps 100 previous snapshot versions (of each map) on disk - any one of which can be recovered as below.

The process to recover an old version is as follows:

1. •Tap the disclosure button next to the appropriate map.
   

2. •Tap ‘Recover Previous Version’
   

3. •Select the date/time version that you wish to recover.
   

The recovered map will now be named as the original but with a date/time suffix and then opened. The original map remains unmodified.
