Topics can have notes attached to them. The notes can even contain hyperlinks. To indicate that a topic has an associated note, it will have a small icon.

To display the note ‘heads up display’ tap the blue triangle in the bottom right of the screen:

The notes will automatically ‘hyperlink’ the various pieces of information - for example:

1. •www. will generate a web link.
   

2. •http(s) will generate a web link.
   

3. •A stream of numbers will generate a phone link (on iPhone)
   

4. •SMS:nnnnn will generate a link to the SMS application (on iPhone)
   

5. •xxxx@yyyy.com will generate a link to the MAIL application.
   

6. •[mapname] will generate a link to another iThoughts map (i.e. place square brackets around the map name.)
   

A note can be edited directly by touching the note        to the bottom right of the note heads up display.

NB: The help map that ships with iThoughts uses notes extensively.

Task Management

If a topic has any task management attributes configured (start date, due date, progress etc.) then the note window will summarize the values. They do not form part of the actual note itself - except when exporting to Freemind or OPML (see the section on Task Management for more details.)
